With the new investment, we also wanted to further increase our depth of manufacturing and boost production capacity.”

The company has now fully achieved these goals. Moreover: "The new board stacking system features an innovative connection system and allows for the use of various wood qualities. This has enabled us to further increase our wood yield and sustainability in production," explains Bundi.

Responsible machine replacement with extra profit

What has become of the old Hundegger board stacking system? The company Strüby does not simply replace old machines and production systems as needed, but is always striving to repurpose them with the help of TBS Swiss. "Fortunately, we had no pressure," says Bundi, "because the new system was installed in a newly constructed hall specifically for that purpose." Therefore, there were no space issues – and the potential proceeds from the sale of the old machine were not relevant for the new purchase. Although, an extra profit is always welcome.

„When it comes to the recycling of used machines, something else is at the forefront for us. It’s about the sustainable management of valuable resources,” says Bundi and explains: “Sustainability is part of our DNA as a woodworker. The resale of decommissioned machines fits perfectly into this.
